siesta
Siesta is often misunderstood as sleep.
In practice, it’s more about interruption.
A pause built into the day.
Shops close.
Streets quieten.
Work doesn’t stop because it’s finished -
it stops because the day needs breaking.
The value isn’t in resting perfectly.
It’s in allowing the afternoon to be shaped differently than the morning.
When activity resumes,
it does so without urgency.
The day holds more than one rhythm.
